Paris, 18 February 2025 - CarbonFarm to Pilot Digital MRV for Gold Standard’s First Satellite-Verified Rice Carbon Project
CarbonFarm will be piloting digital Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) for Gold Standard’s first satellite-verified rice carbon project. This initiative is part of Gold Standard’s pilot programme for dMRV that aims to digitise carbon project certification.
Developed with Partners in Prosperity (PnP), the “Pro-climate Paddy Cultivation” project builds on the NGO’s deep-rooted work with farming communities in India, ensuring climate solutions are farmer-driven and impactful. As on-the-ground implementer, PnP works closely with farmers to scale sustainable rice farming practices.
CarbonFarm’s dMRV tool leverages satellite data and machine learning to simplify data collection, track methane reductions, and measure water savings. This not only strengthens confidence in carbon credits but also makes carbon markets more accessible to farmers—an essential step in scaling rice decarbonisation globally.
