We’re proud to announce that CarbonFarm has won first prize at the Grow Asia Innovation Challenge 2024.
Supported by MAFRA, IFAD, and Beanstalk AgTech, the Grow Asia Innovation Challenge aims to leverage farm-ready technologies to enable smallholder-inclusive and climate-resilient agricultural transformation. It focuses particularly on empowering agri-SMEs in Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Mekong region to improve productivity, market access, and climate resilience. CarbonFarm was selected among 100 submitted solutions from agri-tech contenders across the globe.
CarbonFarm facilitates access to carbon markets for rice growers. We partner with agribusinesses, project developers, international organizations, and NGOs that are best positioned to help farmers transition to sustainable practices, and help them conduct large-scale, high integrity decarbonization projects. We leverage science-backed technology, using AI and satellite data to verify sustainable practices from space, quantify emissions reductions, and streamline the Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) process. Amongst other initiatives, CarbonFarm is currently implementing Vietnam’s first rice decarbonisation project, a program aimed at scaling sustainable rice growing practices to 2,000 farmers in the Mekong Delta.
Winning the first prize of the Grow Asia Innovation Challenge marks a significant milestone for CarbonFarm, rewarding our team’s hard work and commitment to decarbonise rice farming and enable a just transition to climate-smart agriculture!
