Vidya is a carbon markets professional with over six years of experience across voluntary carbon markets but what drives her goes well beyond methodology. For Vidya, the most meaningful carbon projects are the ones with a real before-and-after story, where smallholder farmers adopt better practices, local livelihoods improve, SDGs are delivered on the ground, and carbon credits are the by-product that makes it all scalable. Climate finance, in her view, works best when it is genuinely in service of people and ecosystems not the other way around. Her career has spanned everything from electronics to paleo-climate research to stumbling into carbon markets, and she credits that winding path for giving her a curiosity and perspective that makes every project different and every methodology an interesting puzzle to solve.
